নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদন, ঝাড়গ্রাম: ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার বিনপুর থানার মালাবতী জঙ্গলে মোহনপুর এলাকায় শুক্রবার বিকালে আচমকা ঢুকে পড়ে দলমা থেকে আসা প্রায় চল্লিশটি দাঁতাল হাতি ।যার ফলে ওই এলাকায় ব্যাপক চাঞ্চল্য ছড়িয়ে পড়ে ।ওই চল্লিশটি হাতির দল মোহনপুর এলাকায় ঢুকে তাণ্ডব শুরু করেছে । গ্রামবাসীরা বিষয়টি ফোন করে বন দপ্তর কে জানিয়েছে। যেভাবে হাতি গুলি গ্রামে ঢুকে তাণ্ডব শুরু করেছে তাতে হাতির হামলার আশঙ্কা করছেন এলাকার বাসিন্দারা। একদিকে করোনা অন্যদিকে হাতি নিয়ে সমস্যায় পড়েছেন ওই এলাকার বাসিন্দারা। কয়েকদিন ধরে বিভিন্ন এলাকায় ওই হাতির দল দাপিয়ে তাণ্ডব চালিয়ে ঘরবাড়ির ক্ষতির পাশাপাশি ফসলের ক্ষতি করছে । তাই বনদপ্তর এর কাছে গ্রামবাসীদের আবেদন হাতির দল কে ওই এলাকা থেকে অন্যত্র নিয়ে যাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করুক। জঙ্গলে খাবারের সংকট দেখা দিয়েছে। তাই খাবারের সন্ধানে লোকালয়ে ঢুকে পড়ছে হাতির দল বলে এলাকার বাসিন্দাদের অনুমান। বনদপ্তর এর পক্ষ থেকে ওই এলাকার বাসিন্দাদের সতর্ক থাকার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। সেই সঙ্গে হাতি গুলির গতিবিধির উপর বন দফতরের কর্মীরা নজরদারি শুরু করেছে বলে জানানো হয় । তা সত্ত্বেও এলাকার বাসিন্দারা হাতির হামলার আশঙ্কায় আতংকের মধ্যে রয়েছেন। সেই সঙ্গে লোকালয়ে হাতির দল যাতে ঢুকে না পড়ে তার জন্য একসঙ্গে গ্রামবাসীরা জড়ো হয়ে রাস্তার উপর দাঁড়িয়ে হাতির দলকে গ্রাম থেকে তাড়ানোর চেষ্টা করছে।

About forty tusked elephants from Dalma suddenly entered the Mohanpur area of Malabati forest of Binpur police station in Jhargram district on Friday afternoon. At the same time, the forest department personnel have started monitoring the movement of the elephants. Despite this, the residents of the area are terrified of being attacked by elephants. At the same time, the villagers are standing together on the road and trying to drive the elephants away from the village so that the elephants do not enter the locality.
